Our Rector

Rev. Canon Andrew ‘Drew’ Sheridan has been Rector at Christ Church since 2016. He grew up in nearby Carluke, so his appointment to Lanark felt very much like coming back home. Drew entered a teaching career in modern languages after graduating in Spanish and French from the University of Edinburgh. It was during his teaching career that Drew answered his sense of God’s call and began training for the Priesthood. He is also a Canon of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Glasgow and serves as Bishop’s Chaplain and the Assistant Director of Ordinands for this region. His big passion is horse riding, leading to his nickname: ‘The Cantering Canon’ and has a young Cairn Terrier called Mollie!
