We are excited to announce: Memory Lane, a get-together aimed at helping those affected by dementia or related conditions and their carers. Meetings will be fortnightly, with the first on Wed 20th Feb 1pm-3pm at the Christ Church hall. Please share widely, all are welcome.
Christmas has really begun now. Our annual Christingle service took place last night and it was a resounding success. The church was packed with a number of people having to stand at the back. We were so lucky with the weather and had a stunning summer day for our open air service and barbecue at Cleghorn Estate. Many thanks to Richard and Nicky Eliott-Lockhart for hosting us. Christ Church took part in the town’s festival of flowers by having its own flower festival. The theme of the festival was the Royal Wedding and Jane, Margaret and the rest of the flower team helpers did a magnificent job of adorning the church – definitely fit for a Royal Wedding. We had a beautiful service on Sunday 29th April with a full church and the Harp Group playing. One of their members had composed a special piece of music to celebrate Jamie Hill’s 70th birthday. The Rector also presented him with a Peace Rose as a birthday present from the congregation.
Our Easter Service was very well attended and was an uplifting service for all. The church looked particularly beautiful thanks to Jane, our Flower Lady, and her helpers. The ‘All Age Family Service’ for Mothering Sunday was taken by the children today.
