At Lamington, this Sunday, I will preside and The Curate, Jackie, will preach. At Lanark, Lay Reader Bobby Burgon will preside and preach.
After the 10.30 services
At Lamington, due to our usual hosts having another engagement, there will be no refreshments after the service. At Lanark, however, teas and coffees will be served in the hall as usual.
Stewards on duty at Lanark

Last Sunday Collection
This Sunday, being the last Sunday of the calendar month, all our giving in the open plate at Lanark will be ringfenced for our current Away Giving Campaign in support of Social Bite. As this is our last collection for this very worthy cause, please give as generously as you possibly can.
Church/Hall Rubbish
There is a skip in the back yard of the Rectory. If you wish to throw any Church or Hall rubbish in there, feel three. It will be removed in a fortnight’s time.
Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal
Start filling your shoe boxes now to be sure of having them ready for the deadline collection date in October. Thank you.
Memory Lane
Our Dementia Support Group, Memory Lane, will meet in the hall on Wednesday September 30 from 1 pm until 3 pm. Following a sumptuous scone and cake tea there will be musical entertainment from resident Liberace, Addi and Louie.
Brunch & Browse
Our fellowship and formation group remains in abeyance. We will let you know when it resumes as soon as we know a date.
Brunch & Browse Parish Retreat
Thursday 1 October from 10 am until 4 pm at the beautiful Braehead House on Crossford Brae. Costing £20 per person (£10 subsidised by Vestry) there will be space to pray and be, stimulating input from the curate and Ruth Coates, worship and excellent food. If you are interested in attending, please add your name to the sign-up sheet at the back of the church or speak to Rev Liz or Rev Jackie as soon as possible.
Harvest Festival
This year’s Harvest Festival will fall on Sunday 4 October. As has been our practice in recent years we would be delighted if you could bring with you to the service bags of easy open, ring pull tins of food (Starters/Mains/Puddings) which we will take to the Foodbank in Carluke.
Harvest Flower Donations
Our Flower Convener would be delighted to receive donations towards the cost of decorating the church for Harvest as of now. She has left a box on the table of the back for you to leave your contributions. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
New Setting
Our “trial” of a new, modern setting for the Eucharist continues. Music will be provided for those who can read it. John Wilcox has sourced YouTube links to the various pieces for those of you who can’t read the music. I will forward his email with the links to you separately. Please familiarise yourselves with it in advance of tomorrow. It is a very catchy setting, which will be very easily learned over the next couple of weeks. Good luck.
Broth & Blether
Our Curate Jackie has left a new Broth & Blether soup rota on the table at the back of the church. If you’d like to contribute to this much appreciated outreach project at The Blue Triangle please add your name to the sign-up sheet. Thank you in advance.

Prayer Tree
We now have a prayer tree in the church hall. If you would like someone or something to be prayed for, please write your petition on the hearts provided and place it on the tree. Your prayer will be prayed for in church.
Private Prayer
When she is with us on Sundays The Revd Liz Clelland will offer pastoral prayer in the Memorial Chapel after the Sung Eucharist to individuals who would like it.
