Services
Sunday 13 October 2024 (Harvest Festival) – 10.30 am Sung Eucharist (Christ Church Lanark)
Harvest Festival
For your Harvest Offering we would be delighted if you could bring in some easy-open, ring-pull tins of food, which we will donate to the Clydesdale Foodbank in Carluke along with the money we have raised in the last quarter’s Away Giving in support of the very same charity. After our service in church there will be a “bring-and-share” lunch in the hall, to which you are all cordially invited. Please remember to do that very Christ Church thing and bring your own crockery and cutlery! Look forward to seeing you all there.
President & Preacher
This Sunday I will preside and preside and Lay Reader Bobby Burgon will preach.
Steward on duty at Christ Church Lanark
This Sunday the Steward on duty will be: The Revd Liz Clelland.
Away Giving
In the year ahead the remaining recipient of our Away Giving will be: Neuroendocrine Research.
Memory Lane
Our Dementia Support Group, Memory Lane, will have its fortnightly meeting on Wednesday from 1 pm till 3 pm in the church hall. This week we will be entertained by Addi Jopp and friends.
AGM 2024
The Annual General Meeting of our congregation will take place after the Sung Eucharist on Sunday 27 October. There has been a delay in compiling the AGM Report, but it, along with the Annual Accounts, will be available for collection next Sunday. Please check the Congregational Roll for errors/changes in your personal details. Please also sign the Photographic Exclusion Sheet if you do not wish photographs of yourself to appear in the magazine or online. We are also looking for one new Vestry Member. Nomination papers have been left before the other paperwork.
Music in Lanark
Music in Lanark will hold their next concert in the church on Saturday 19 October. Please consult the brochure (in the porch and on the shelf at the back of the church) for details of forthcoming concerts.
Situations Vacant
At the moment we have one vacancy to fill – that of Hall Convener. If you would be interested in finding out more about the position, please speak to the Rector at your earliest convenience.
Prayer
When she is with us on Sundays The Revd Liz Clelland will offer pastoral prayer in the Memorial Chapel after the Sung Eucharist to individuals who would like it.
