On Sunday 21 January Emily Alice Stewart, daughter of Tracey and Kevin was baptised by Drew. Emily is the granddaughter of our Lay Reader, Richard and rose to the occasion by behaving impeccably. The flowers in Church were beautiful for the occasion.
On Sunday the church was packed for our Christingle Service. The children and musicians did brilliantly as we held a more traditional Nativity. Afterwards everyone enjoyed mulled wine, mince pies and shortbread in the church hall.
Trevor Lewis and the Rector led The Act of Remembrance at 11am in our church on Remembrance Sunday. Jane provided the beautiful floral tributes.
Last Sunday we had our Harvest Festival. The church looked beautiful and a large number of tins and dry foods were donated for the Clydesdale Food Bank. Afterwards we all enjoyed a ‘Bring and Share’ lunch in the church hall.
Richard Evans, one of our lay readers, had a double celebration this week. He celebrated a ‘significant’ birthday with a gorgeous cake supplied by Doreen Dixon and then received a lovely additional birthday present when his daughter Tracey gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Emily Alice. We had such a lovely day for the Outdoor Service and Barbecue which is very kindly hosted every year by Richard and Nicky Eliott-Lockhart at Cleghorn Estate. Music Sunday was held in Christ Church. It was such a lovely service. This year it had the theme of Pilgrimage and the Hymns and readings all fitted well into this theme. The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Party at Christ Church was a great success. Everyone enjoyed good food and fun party games. Many thanks to Jean, Mary and Marie-Christine for cooking the pancakes and Drew for his organisation.
