Rev. Canon Andrew ‘Drew’ Sheridan has been Rector at Christ Church since 2016. He grew up in nearby Carluke, so his appointment to Lanark felt very much like coming back home. Drew entered a teaching career in modern languages after graduating in Spanish and French from the University of Edinburgh. Whilst teaching secondary school in Dumfries, he met his wife Teresa – also a teacher – and they have a grown up daughter, Catherine. It was during his teaching career that Drew answered his sense of God’s call and began training for the Priesthood. He is also a Canon of St. Mary’s Cathedral Glasgow and serves as Bishop’s Chaplain and the Assistant Director of Ordinands for this region. His big passion is horse riding, leading to his nickname: ‘The Cantering Canon’ and has a young Cairn Terrier called Mollie!
Rev. Lee Johnston has been the assistant minister (known as ‘Curate’) at Christ Church since 2018. Having felt called to ministry at a young age, Lee studied for his theology degrees at the University of Glasgow before entering training towards the Priesthood. During this time he met his now fiancé Harriet who was also training for ministry and they plan to marry in 2020. When not doing ministry or planning a wedding, Lee enjoys live music, country walks and the (very) occasional swim or gym visit!
