This Sunday’s Services      

Sunday 28 May 2023 (Day of Pentecost) – 10.30 am – Sung Eucharist.

After the Sung Eucharist teas and coffees will be served in the church hall.  All welcome.  

Closure of Hope Street

Please note that Hope Street (the street on which Christ Church sits) will be closed as of Saturday for 5 days.  Please park in the nearby streets, or in the car parks in North Vennel.  Good luck.

Preacher 

This Sunday I will share my reflections on Pentecost. Next Sunday it will be the turn of Rev Liz Clelland to unfold the mysteries of the Most Holy & Blessed Trinity.

Christian Aid Envelopes.

If you have decided to give to Christian Aid using the envelopes that we issued to you last Sunday, please remember to bring your donation with you on Sunday and place it on the plate at the back of the church. 

Last Sunday of the Month

This Sunday, being the last of the month, all our giving in the open plate will go directly to our current away giving campaign in support of Stanmore School. Please come armed with some extra cash for this purpose. 

Vestry

Our Vestry will meet on Tuesday evening at 6.30 pm on Zoom.

Memory Lane

This coming Wednesday, from 1 pm until 3 pm, in the Church Hall.  The musical entertainment this week will be the ever popular Ukulele Ladies.  A light lunch will also be served, so don’t eat before you come!

Warm Community Hub

Thursdays from 12 noon till 3 pm in the church hall.  Come along for a heat, some soup, good company and a chat.  Jackie, who has set the hub up, would love to hear from anybody in the congregation who would be willing to volunteer to help make the Hub work. She looks forward to hearing from you.

Prayer

When she is with us on Sundays The Revd Liz Clelland will offer pastoral prayer in the Memorial Chapel after the Sung Eucharist to individuals who would like it.

Oxfam Volunteers

The Oxfam shop at the top of Lanark High Street is looking for the following volunteers – stockroom organisers, sales assistants, online shopping co-ordinators.  If you think you would like to help with this, please pop in to the shop for a chat with Amanda or apply online at www.oxfam.org.uk

Away Giving Recipients 2023 – 2024

Thanks to everyone who put forward possible recipients for our Away Giving this year. Of the 8 recommendations received the following three were agreed:  The Maggie Centre, The Brain Tumour Charity and Stanmore House and School.
