This Sunday, Dr Joh Wilcox will preach and I will preside.  Next Sunday Rob Thain will preach and preside at Christ Church to enable me to take the service at Lamington.

Autumn Ladies

Wednesday 22 November, 2 pm until 4 pm.  This week the guest speaker at the Autumn Ladies meeting will be Jack Geddes of the Glasgow City Mission.

Advent Quiet Time

Due to a number of other events taking place on the date first scheduled for Liz Clelland’s Advent Quiet Time (2 December), we have moved it to Saturday 9 December, 10.30 am – 12.30 pm.  All welcome.

New Daylight Bible Reading Books

In response to a request, our curate Jackie would like to introduce New Daylight Bible Readings. This is a booklet which provides a four monthly daily Bible readings and comments.  The price of the booklet depends on how many people would like to subscribe. The more who wish to participate, the greater the discount.  If you are interested Jackie has left a copy for you look at and a sheet for you to sign at the back of the church.  Alternatively, have a chat with Jackie over coffee and she will give you all the information you need.

Choir Practice

Tuesday, 6 pm, in the church.  New members always welcome.

St Andrew’s Hospice Shop

St Andrews hospice Shop will be reopening in Lanark, hopefully at the start of November.  They are currently looking for volunteers from Monday to Saturday. The shifts are from 10 to 1 and 1 to 4pm.  If you would like to consider volunteering, please contact Siobhan Keenan on 01236 766951 

Away Giving Recipients 2023 – 2024

Thanks to everyone who put forward possible recipients for our Away Giving this year.  Of the 8 recommendations received the following three were agreed:  The Maggie Centre, The Brain Tumour Charity and Stanmore House and School.

Prayer

When she is with us on Sundays The Revd Liz Clelland will offer pastoral prayer in the Memorial Chapel after the Sung Eucharist to individuals who would like it.

Music In Lanark

Music In Lanark’s next concert will be on Saturday 25 November at 19.45 in Christ Church.  It will feature “Longway Bluegrass Band”, one of the UK’s top bluegrass bands.  Tickets can be purchased at the door.
