Suspension of Services at Christ Church

Dear Christ Church,

Given the news about the virulence of the new strain of Covid19 and the devastating effect it is predicted to have in the early months of 2021 the Rector has decided that Christ Church will close with immediate effect.

Although we are sorry to be closing the church building, we Clergy no longer feel it is safe for 20 people from different households to meet in the church building in the current circumstances when we are being told that there should be no mixing of households around the New Year celebrations. Continuing as we are at the moment seems a risk too far.     If you have booked to attend any Services within the next three weeks (Sundays 3rd, 10th, 17th January and Wednesdays in-between), please be aware that these bookings are now cancelled.     We will work towards reinstating our online recorded Services in January. Until then, please continue to tune in to the Provincial Online Services for the next two Sundays. We will also put in place measures to ensure that pastoral care of the congregation continues. The situation will be reviewed after three weeks, with a view to re-opening when it is safe to do so. We will keep you informed of any decisions that are made after this review.   Kind Regards,   The Clergy

By booking and attending, you give your consent for your details to be held for 21 days and for them to be passed to NHS Test & Protect if needed.

Christ Church’s recorded online services can be found on our YouTube channel

Written versions of the service can be found here on our website.

The Scottish Episcopal Church broadcasts a Communion service each Sunday at 11am and a Service of the Word each Thursday at 6:30pm.

You can join the services as they are broadcast live or find the archive of all the services here on YouTube
